# Workspace Search

> Find Journeys, contacts, services, partners, tasks, and invoices from anywhere in your Odia workspace.

## Overview

Use **Search** in the sidebar to find workspace records without first opening
their individual sections. Search is available on protected workspace pages.
When the sidebar is collapsed, the same control is shown as a search icon.

## Search for a record

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Search">
    Select **Search** in the sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter at least two characters">
    Type part of the record name, title, or invoice number. The palette starts
    searching after the second character.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a source when helpful">
    Start on **All**, or select a source tab to focus on **Journeys**,
    **Travelers**, **Services**, **Suppliers**, **Travel Agencies**, **Travel
    Agents**, **Tasks**, or **Invoices**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the result">
    Select a result to open its existing workspace page. A Task opens its
    existing edit dialog. An Invoice opens its existing invoice editor.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Understanding results

Each result shows its title and, when it helps distinguish the record, one
short context line. For example, a Task can show its related Journey and an
Invoice can show its Journey or billed party.

| Result | Opens |
| - | - |
| Journey | The Journey detail |
| Traveler | The traveler contact |
| Service | The service detail |
| Supplier | The supplier organization |
| Travel Agency | The travel agency |
| Travel Agent | The travel agent contact |
| Task | The existing Task editor |
| Invoice | The existing Invoice editor |

## If a result is unavailable

A source can finish independently of the others. If one result group says it
is temporarily unavailable, select **Retry** in that group. If a search has no
matches, check the spelling or choose the relevant source tab.

## Recent searches

Before you type, Search shows up to five of your most recent searches so you
can reopen one with a single click. Recent searches are stored in your
browser, not on your Odia account, so they don't carry over to another device
or browser — and they can be empty if your browser blocks site data.

<Note>
  Workspace Search does not search inbox emails, and there's no way to name or
  save a search permanently. The **Recent** list above is the only history it
  keeps.
