# Journey Translations

> Translate a Journey, choose Fast mode and check the AI Credits before sharing it with your client.

Share a Journey in your client's language. Choose whether to keep your own wording or translate it, then review the result before publishing.

## Translate a Journey

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the preview">
    In **Journeys**, point to your Journey and select the **eye** button, **Preview journey**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the language">
    Select the **flag** at the top of the preview and choose your client's language.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Keep your text or translate it">
    **Keep my text as written** is on by default. Leave it on if your descriptions are already in the right language. Dates, labels and buttons use the chosen language, while your wording stays unchanged.

    Turn it off to translate your text too, including service descriptions and terms.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the speed">
    | Fast mode | What to expect |
    | - | - |
    | **Off** — the default | Uses fewer AI Credits. A long Journey can take a few minutes. |
    | **On** | Usually finishes sooner and uses more AI Credits. |

    The credit estimate updates when you change **Fast mode**. Both options continue in the background once started.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Translate and save">
    Check the **AI Credits** estimate below the button, then select **Translate and save**.

    Keep the page open until the menu says **Continues in the background.** You can then leave or reload. Return to Preview and open the flag to see progress or the saved result.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and publish">
    When translation finishes, check the wording in the preview. Select **Publish** when you want your client to see it.

    Saving the language updates the draft. Publishing updates the public Journey.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What gets translated?

With **Keep my text as written** off, Odia translates your Journey's titles, descriptions, summaries, content cards, visible custom text fields and terms.

Your original text and Service Library records stay unchanged. For example, if your Library descriptions are already in French, choose **Français** and leave the switch on.

## How much does it cost?

Check the estimate before starting. It depends on how much text needs translating and whether **Fast mode** is on. Long descriptions and terms can use more credits.

* Credits come from your organization's shared balance.
* Saved translations of unchanged text are reused without another translation charge.
* **Keep my text as written** can still use credits for labels that need translation.

Read [AI Credits](/features/ai-credits) for pricing and how to get more credits.

### The estimate and the final charge

**Up to** shows the estimated cost before you start. The final charge can be lower. Odia temporarily holds credits while translation runs and returns any unused credits afterward.

Selecting **Stop translation** lets the current part finish before stopping. Stopped or failed translations can still use credits for work already done.

## Update or reuse a translation

After editing your original text, select **Translate and save** again. Odia prepares the missing or changed translations and reuses the rest. Review the updated Journey before publishing.

If translation fails, read the message, check the updated credit estimate and select **Translate and save** to try again. If you see **Not enough AI credits.**, check your organization's balance first.

## Publish with the text you have

You can publish without translating first. Untranslated text appears as you wrote it. The saved language changes only after **Translate and save** succeeds.

## Automatic translations

Normal mode uses AI. **Fast mode** uses [Google Translate](https://cloud.google.com/translate), with AI helping where additional checks are needed. Both modes can reuse saved translations.

Google Translate uses the same language for both English options and for both Spanish options. Dates, numbers, labels and buttons still follow your chosen region.

The **Automatic translations** link in the Journey footer opens this notice.
